Went on a jaunt recently to the Sydney Japanese Language Exchange Group. They meet every 2nd Wednesday of the month to practice Japanese, meet Japanese people and talk about Japanese culture.

Roppongi was the topic of conversation in some circles and apparently the comparison to King's Cross in Sydney was a misnomer. A common misconception about Roppongi is that there are Nigerians everywhere trying to get you into clubs and pubs (if you're male) Actually this is more likely to be in Shibuya.

I'm planning on hiking up Mount Fuji / Fujiyama / Fuji-san in August so was also looking for some tips on doing this but, of the people I'd asked, no one had done it.

It was a smaller gathering than usual as the weather was colder and not as much advertising had been done this month. Even so there were some interesting people to chat to and it was well worth the night. I thoroughly recommend going along if you're in Sydney.

Have you hiked up Mount Fuji? I'd be interested to read about your experience. Please leave your comments!
