I think the most interesting thing about the universe, that seems logical when you think about it, is that thought has a mass. If protons, neutrons and electrons have mass then of course a thought, which contains electrical impulses has more mass than them. Mass means gravity so a thought has an imperceptible power to influence matter around it. If you concentrate on one thing for a long enough time you're likely to get it.
Noetic sciences looks at the idea that if you have a substantial amount of people all focusing on the same thing, then the influence will move from imperceptible to perceptible. There are two things happening at the moment that have a number of people around the world focused on them. Global warming and the global financial crisis.
Follow up:
The jury is still out on global warming. Temperatures have not increased since 2000 yet carbon still continues to fill the air. There'll be more conferences and more discussions on reducing emissions by 2050 but ultimately it's just a stage show. The government's job is to keep people in jobs and if they can throw some money at global warming organisations to temporarily reduce the unemployment figures then it is worth doing. But it is slowly becoming a non issue and governments around the world are waiting for people to just forget about it. But they're not!!! This is Noetic Science and the Law of Attraction at work. People are continually going on and on about it because it affects them every day. Every time we have a warmer than we can remember day, someone says it's global warming! This keeps the idea out there and may even actually be influencing the weather. After all, the world was concerned in the 70s that they were heading for an ice age and temperatures kept dropping!
The global financial crisis is different. The crash sent huge companies to the wall but because it is not a subject that is actually affecting that many people world wide, the influence is not as strong and the economy has actually bounced back quicker than most experts and analysts expect. This is also Noetic sciences in action. The global economic crisis does not affect people employed by governments (governments don't normally fire people when they run out of money, they just borrow more!) and it doesn't affect education institutions (usually supported by governments). Most financially literate people know that a crash is due every ten years and prepare for it so they're not adversely affected. Parents who have been saving for years for their children's education have already got a budget in place and are also not affected by it. People in rural areas or people in 3rd world countries haven't even heard of a stock market so they're not affected by it either. This positive thinking outweighed the negative affect of a number of businesses in American going under. In the USA it is a terrible crisis that is always on the news and in the face of every person who lives there. Interestingly, America is the country suffering the most. Time to turn off that news report, stop buying that newspaper, and start focusing on doing something positive that will change your situation and change the world around you.
So, if thought has a mass, now's the time for everyone reading this blog to say that the global economic crisis is almost over and that global warming is no longer a problem. If we all focus hard enough at the same time for long enough, the problems will disappear. (That's the theory behind Noetic Science and the Law of Attraction. Obviously going out and positively doing something about it will have a better affect, but imagine your focus allows someone else to come up with the perfect solution.)
And if you don't believe extended thought affects the weather around you, speak with a native American Indian about rain dancing.
